1:30pm   Opening Remarks by the Chair.

1:40pm   Update from the Executive Branch on Emerging Employment Tax Issues.  A panel of government representatives will discuss the most significant recent developments affecting employment taxes with a focus on their practical implications. The discussion also will include the appropriateness of any actions to be taken by the Committee in response to those developments.  Moderator: Thomas H. Meyerer, Ernst & Young, LLP, Washington, DC. Panelists: Catherine Livingston, Assistant Chief Counsel EO/ET/Government Entities, IRS, Washington, DC; Neil Shepherd, Senior Counsel, Office of Division Counsel, IRS, Washington, DC.
2:50pm Disasters and Employment Taxes. Practitioners and state government representatives will discuss employment-tax issues arising from occurrence of public disaster, including sufficiency of Katrina notices. Moderator: Thomas H. 3:50pm   Employment Taxes and the Mobile Domestic Workforce Post-Huckaby.
