The Denver History Tour with High Tea and Lunch
(Ticketed Event $110)
In light of the recent awareness of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown’s” role in the disastrous story of the Titanic, this tour is a must see. Guests will learn about the life and times of “Unsinkable” Molly Brown with a docent guided tour of her restored Victorian home in Denver. Two stone lions at the entry guard the fantastic-looking Queen Anne home, designed by William Lang in 1889, and the restored interior is filled with Victorian antiques and unusual features like the polar bear rug in the front parlor.
After touring the Molly Brown House, guests will be taken to the historic Brown Palace Hotel for a behind the scenes tour. This four-star, luxury landmark Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Denver, and throughout its 109-year history, the Brown Palace Hotel has played host to presidents, princesses, kings and queens, and their entourage of followers. While most people associate the Brown Palace with President Eisenhower, who used the hotel as his summer headquarters during his administration, the hotel has a long history of hosting other dignitaries as well.
Following the behind the scenes tour of this historic landmark, guests will enjoy a delicious lunch, along with the renowned Brown Palace Afternoon Tea. Set amid the historic grandeur of the newly restored atrium lobby with its serenade of the melodic harp and piano accompaniment, guests revel in the splendor as they escape from the city''s bustle. After lunch, guests will be transported back to the hotel.
