Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), certain employers must offer health coverage to their full-time employees or make a "shared responsibility" payment, starting in 2014. The ACA exempts small firms with fewer than 50 full-time employees from this requirement. The panelists will discuss who is in and who is out under these rules, strategies for compliance for employers, timeline for compliance and the penalties for noncompliance.

This is the first of a four part series on the Affordable Care Act. The next program is April 30th entitled, The Roadmap to Compliant Wellness Programs. One of the speakers will be Elena Lynett, Senior Health Law Specialist, US Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, Office of Health Plan Standards and Compliance Assistance, Washington, DC
