The Department of Labor estimates that about 65 million participants currently are responsible for directing investments in their 401(k) plans. New DOL proposed regulations issued on July 23, 2008 outline the fiduciary duties to provide participants with the crucial information they need to make informed decisions about their retirement savings accounts and their plan investments.
